How the Extension Works
When you use Scruman:
- Screenshot capture: Images are captured locally in your browser and never leave your device
- Image editing: All editing happens locally in your browser
- Temporary storage: Screenshots are temporarily stored in browser memory only during the editing session
- Export: When you download or copy an image, it is saved directly to your device or clipboard
All operations are performed entirely on your local device. No data is transmitted to external servers.
Permissions Used
Scruman requires the following Chrome permissions to function:
- activeTab: To capture screenshots of the current tab when you click the extension
- scripting: To enable the "Select Area" feature and handle full-page captures
- storage: To temporarily store screenshot data between capture and editing (local only)
These permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality and never for data collection.
Third-Party Services
Scruman does not use any third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools. The extension operates completely offline after installation.
Data Security
Since we don't collect any data, there is no user data to secure on our end. All your screenshots and edited images remain on your local device under your control.
Children's Privacy
Scruman does not collect any information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.
