Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater

The theater building was built in 1910 by the famous builder-engineer Bayev. On October 18, 1918, the government of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic made a decision to purchase this building and officially turn it into a state theater, and the history of the state opera theater begins from this time. The theater has been an Academic theater since 1959. This theater, which developed during the past period, is now one of the main centers of the cultural life of the republic.
